Out of School Care
Unfortunately, the organisation that runs the Helping Hands Before and After School Care here at Hampton Park have decided that with falling numbers it is not viable for them to offer the program anymore. Helping Hands will still offer holiday programs as previously. They are based at another location for the holiday programs.
Morley Out of School Care pick up and drop off at our school via a bus. They use the Weld Square Primary School grounds. Information about this organisation follows.
End of Year Assemblies
For parents and carers planning to attend any of the end of year assemblies, here are the dates and times. We would love to see as many families in attendance as possible.
Tuesday 6 December Year Six Presentation 8:45 am to 10:30 am.
A parent morning tea will follow this.
Tuesday 13 December Year 1 to 6 Class Awards Assembly 8:45 am to 10:00 am.
Wednesday 14 December K to PP Presentation Assembly 8:45 am to 9:45 am.
In Term Swimming Lessons 2023
We have been allocated two weeks in November next year for our in term swimming lessons. They will all be morning time slots.
Charges and Contributions for 2023
Each family will be sent home a copy of the Charges and Contributions for 2023. It is a requirement from the Education Department that all families are informed three months before the commencement of the next school year of possible charges for that year. This is to allow families an opportunity to budget for those programs if required. The amounts shown are the maximum amount that you could be charged over the year. In many cases we never come close to the amounts except for swimming lessons and the Year Six camp.
Merit and Values Awards
Congratulations to the following students who received a Merit Certificate or Values Award at our last assembly.

Dr Cameron Stelzer Incursion

The incursion with Dr Cameron Stelzer was highly engaging for all year groups. The students were very interactive during each session. It was wonderful to see the Pre Primary children exploring their writing and drawing after the session. The experience was invaluable.
Swimming Carnival
This year's carnival went ahead in pleasant conditions and considering the day before was 30 degrees, not a word of complaint, well maybe a few gasps as they entered the water!
Students jumped at the chance to have a go at freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and the novelty events. The carnival is all about participation and we had over 130 students from Years 3 to 6 participate, some even nominating for strokes they had never tried before.
After all the splashing, squealing and cheering, O'Connor were the clear winning faction.
Congratulations to the individual medal winners, and to all those who tried out for events and were out of their comfort zone giving their all for their faction.

Weet-Bix Active Bands
Last week, children were sent home with their free Weet-Bix Active Band.
Weet-Bix Active Bands are a fun, FREE way for Aussie kids to keep active and be rewarded along the way. Designed for kids aged 5 to 12 years, Weet-Bix Active Bands combines a super cool wrist band with an interactive app, with heaps of activities and challenges to make exercise fun.
Do you know that only one in five Aussie kids are meeting Australian Government physical activity guidelines? Yes, just 19% of Australian children aged 5 to 17 are completing at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity each day.
Weet-Bix Active Bands is a partnership between Athletics Australia and Weet-Bix. Two organisations focused on the health and wellbeing of our Aussie kids. Using a combination of smart and engaging digital technology, Weet-Bix Active Bands allows parents, teachers, and coaches to create, record and track physical activity easily and flexibly.

Helping Hands
Dear Helping Hands families,
Helping Hands and Hampton Park Primary School have made the difficult decision to close the out of school care service facilitated by Helping Hands effective Thursday 15th December 2022. Many factors were considered around this and in consultation with our Partnership team these included, a deep dive on attendances where a year-on-year review has seen a significant decrease in out of School care usage, other providers collecting from Hampton Park impacting enrolments and the available access of space in the future to grow attendances.
We appreciate our families who have been committed to Helping Hands over the 7 years we have facilitated a program and we thank you for your support, we understand that this may impact care arrangements into 2023 although we know that there are a number of other providers who collect from Hampton Park, these providers can be sourced on the Government website linked below - we believe the timeliness of our communication will assist in families accessing alternative care.

Helping Hands continues to welcome attendance during our Holiday Programs at neighbouring schools sites, including Sutherland Dianella and Hillcrest both being Helping Hands services

We appreciate the Partnership between Helping Hands and the Hampton Park school community. Further to this we thank our dedicated team of professionals who always put the needs of the children first and who have impacted positively on the lives of your children.
Please direct any communications and feedback to our School Relationship Manager, Natasha Browne on 0429 093 847.
