Principal’s Report
I would like to publicly acknowledge and thank Mr Ben Ker for the work he did as the Principal of Hampton Park Primary School for the last two weeks in my absence. I believe there was smooth sailing during the two weeks. Also thank you to Adele Salleo who once again committed to doing the work as Deputy Principal.
I would also like to thank the staff for recognising National Primary Principal’s Day for both Ben and I on Friday 6th August.
Public Speaking Assembly
I am looking forward to the Public Speaking competition on August 18th. This event is held during the normal assembly time commencing at 8.45am. Parents and family members are welcome to attend.
Staff
Mrs Farthing will be leaving the school on Friday 20th August as she is expecting the arrival of her second child. Mrs Farthing will be replaced for the last five weeks of this term by Ms Liana Anastasio. We then welcome back Mrs Kelly Horrocks into C4 for the Thursday and Friday teaching days.
School Survey
A short survey will be sent home this week. The purpose of the survey is not to pry into families lives but we do need some information so we can determine family’s needs in the homes if our state or region was placed into lock down again by the COVID-19 disease. It will be a short pen and paper survey that hopefully all families can participate in and return the slips to school.
Interschool Cross Country Carnival
This Friday we will be sending competitors from Years Three to Six to the annual interschool cross country carnival. The carnival will be held this year at McGuire Oval in Beechboro, commencing at 12.35pm. Parents are welcome to attend.
Kindergarten 2022
We still have vacancies in our 2022 Kindergarten classes. If you have a child that turns four before the 30th June 2022 then he/she will be eligible for Kindergarten in 2022, or perhaps you know of a neighbour that does and still hasn’t enrolled. Enrolment forms can be found on our school web site.

Brownes Dairy Incursion
In the last week of July, the Pre-primary and Kindy 2 children were delighted by a visit from Amelie the cow, farmer Damian and Betty from Brownes Dairy. Everyone had fun milking Amelie, learning how milk gets from farm to table and what products are made from this delicious and nutritious food.
We even got to taste test several flavours of scrumptious yoghurt! Did you know Brownes yoghurts get their great taste from fruits? Even the marshmallow and bubblegum flavours!
With such happy smiles, it was a pleasure to learn how milk helps to keep your teeth, bones, hair and nails strong and healthy!

Early Childhood Staff
Museum and Yagan Square Excursion
Cluster Five spent a fantastic day at the WA Museum - Boola Bardip and Yagan Square as part of their class Science reward on Friday 6th August. Thank you to Mr Rakimov for organising this exciting day. Some highlights of the day were having a class photo next to the Megalodon Super Shark, creating footsteps in the amazing Dinosaur ecosystem and looking at fossils of Gogo fish. We also climbed through the caves of the underworld full of interesting creatures. We explored desert landscapes and went inside a termite mound. Everyone had lots of fun playing chasey and splashing in the water at the Yagan Square playground. We learnt about the history of Yagan and checked out his sculpture. Finally, we spent some time spotting noisy frogs at the Art Gallery wetland. We ended our day eating ice lollies with lots of happy children. Thank you to Mrs Counsel for assisting us with our day.

Challenge Club
At Challenge Club in Week Two, the students were challenged to make the tallest architectural tower possible using only mini marshmallows and spaghetti sticks! Our winners were Svyatoslav and Reilly-James from Year Six, with a very impressive height of 63cm. Well done.

Year Six Cup Cake Stall Fundraiser
Yesterday our Year Sixes held a very successful and delicious cupcake stall with all money raised going towards our graduation fund.
We would like to say a big thank you to all the Year Six parents who made, decorated and donated so many amazing cakes. A huge thanks also to the generous parents who came along and helped set up and sell the cupcakes on the day. Thank you to Sue Smith, Kim Sarti, Meg Guest, Jay Pustkuchen, Stacey Svoboda and Leanne Horne. Your time was so appreciated and helped the event run smoothly.
Also, a big thank you to all the students and staff who supported our cake stall on the day. Special thanks to Mrs Fraser for helping out and the Fundraising Commitee consisting of Jack H, Jack D, Madison S, Isabella K, Leila CD and Ezra F.
Today we raised in excess of $700!
THANK YOU EVERYONE.
