Principal’s Report

Congratulations to all the year three and five students who displayed amazing resilience, patience and persistence while undertaking their NAPLAN tests. The glitches in the system were Australia wide.

Thank you to the P&C members who worked very hard on Election Day cooking breakfast and lunch for all the voters who used this school as their polling place. Many thanks to those who donated cakes for the cake stall, I believe it was very successful.

Colour Fun Run

Don’t forget to keep collecting sponsorships for the colour fun run being held next Wednesday 29th May.

Assembly

At our last class assembly, the year six children were amazing with their memories of camp assembly. Today we will be entertained in Mandarin by Mrs Lee.

Congratulations to the following students who were awarded a Merit certificate at the last assembly and/or a Value Certificate for demonstrating Resilience. This week’s value is Co-Operation, hopefully the children all demonstrate co-operation every night at home when they assist with the dishes.

Kindy Mother’s Day Pamper Afternoon

Our kindy students hosted a pamper afternoon for their mothers/carers. It was a lovely afternoon and everyone had a great time. Mrs Arnott was lucky enough to be included in the pampering.

Sports Report

Congratulations go to Leeroy Ngu-Yen for being selected into the State School Boys 12s AFL Team. Leeroy will represent the state (and Hampton Park) during the Inter State Carnival in Mandurah. We are super proud of you Leeroy.

Eagle's Cup Results

Eagle’s Cup V Noranda Primary School

We played Noranda in a home fixture on the 10th May.

Football (AFL) - Hampton def Noranda
Netball A - Hampton def Noranda
Netball B - Noranda def Hampton
Basketball - Hampton def Noranda
Soccer - Hampton drew with Noranda

A great sporting display by our teams, both in results and the way the games were played.

Eagle’s Cup V’s Hillcrest Primary School

Last Friday our teams made the short trip to Hillcrest for game 2 in our Eagle's Cup season.

Our teams accounted for themselves in excellent fashion with results and sporting attitude.

Football (AFL)

Hampton 10:3 defeated Hillcrest 2:5.

Our midfielders took control of the game very early. Leeroy "Natanui" was dominant in the ruck and around the ground, Clayton "Yeo" ran riot and had great support from Hayden "Shuey". Garrison "Kennedy" booted another 5 or so goals, taking his tally for the year to 14 (in 2 games!!!). It is very pleasing to see the kids who don't normally play footy having a crack too. Caitlyn nearly took a great mark and chance to kick a goal, Joe is taking the "Jack Reiwoldt" role in providing a target and pack buster for our smalls to rally to. The mosquito fleet of Tyrone, Tyler, Lucas, Harry and Bronson are buzzing around taking any opportunity. Our backs form a formidable wall that our opposition find hard to breach. Well done to Tai "McGovern", Matty "Shepherd" and Wayne "Barrass". Looking very much forward to our next game, come on down to Camboon and be very entertained by our "Mini Eagles" (That's what the Noranda PE teacher labelled us after game 1!!!).

Netball A

Hampton 8 defeated Hillcrest 7.
This was a very close and exciting game!

Netball B

Hillcrest 12 defeated Hampton 0.
This is our "learning team" and the main aim is participation and enjoyment. The girls do enjoy their game time and are learning "on the job".

Basketball

Hillcrest 38 defeated Hampton 35.
Our "Wildcats" of last week found the going a bit tougher against Hillcrest this week going down by 3 points in a very entertaining game. Great effort and skills displayed by Jayden, Nic and Shania. Thanks to the Bingham’s for their support in scoring for the team and making sure they aren't "stinky" by washing the singlets each week.

Football (Soccer)

Hampton 5 defeated Hillcrest 1.
It’s a pity we couldn't give the Glory a couple of our goals, or even a player or two!!!
A big result for our team as last year we were involved in some high scoring losses to Hillcrest.

Great game by Jayden, Cian and Garry.

Room 3 News

Room 3 has been working very hard to write a persuasive piece on why their Mum is the best. The students thought of many kind and unique examples to support their work. After sharing all of their responses, it’s safe to say that we definitely do have the best Mums at Hampton!

Kindy Enrolments

We are now taking Kindy enrolments for 2020. The earlier we receive our enrolments the easier it makes it for the school to plan for class sizes and associated staffing. Enrolments for Kindergarten close on Friday 26th July. Once we have confirmed enrolments, the parents of new students will be invited to an event to meet staff and find out more about the school and the Kindy program in term 3.

Please spread the word to your friends and family in the area so we can be as prepared as possible for students starting their first year of school. To enrol, contact our friendly office staff or fill out the application form via our website.

Glass Jar Collection

We are collecting empty and clean Dorito or Salsa jars for our paint storage. Please give these to Mrs Firby.

Free to Good Home – Piano

We have an old piano, if anyone is interested please contact us.

This is the first time these girls have played real netball and they are really enjoying being out on the court representing Hampton Park Primary School.

This age group doesn’t keep score as it is all about having fun, however we did manage to get five goals in this week and it was our highest score so far.
