Principal’s Report
It is with mixed emotions that I write what potentially is my last newsletter. I have really enjoyed my time here at Hampton Park Primary School, it was always a pleasure to come to work. The staff are perhaps the most collegiate staff I have ever had the enjoyment of working with. 99% of the time the children are beautifully behaved, they are children still learning so sometimes we see the 1%. Even then, they are wonderful children who are a credit to every family at the school.
You know it is a great school community when the School Board positions are always full and you must run elections, as there are more people wishing to be on the Board than there are places available. Then, there is the highly committed P & C, which support the school through major fund-raising efforts. This is a terrific community at Hampton Park Primary.
It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with children all my life. It was always my dream growing up to be a primary school teacher, so it has been with great joy that I have lived my dream. However, as I have now concluded my 44th year working for the Department of Education I feel that the time has come to enter the next stage of my life. What this looks like right now, I don’t know. My husband and I both have Long Service Leave until the end of Term One and then most likely we will both retire.
Thank you for the honour of serving your families.

Swimming Carnival
RED, RED, RED (STIRLING) have finally won a carnival!
The Year 3 to 6 Stirling (Red) faction swimming team managed to take out the Faction Swimming Carnival, with a bit of a gap from Gairdner (Gold), then Forrest (Blue) and lastly the 4 carnival winners, O'Connor (Green).
Thanks to the many parents that came to cheer the swimmers on in a mixture of tabloid and fun team games and fair dinkum flat out medal events.

Scitech Excursion
On Wednesday 4 December the students from Clusters 3, 4 & 5 hopped on a bus and spent the day at Scitech for their end of year excursion. The little scientists started the day watching an engaging theatre show, where they learnt about chemical reactions. After this, they explored fun science-based exhibits that were interactive and imaginative. Lastly, they sat in awe as they star gazed, discovered planets, and learnt about seasons in the planetarium. The students were so inquisitive, and they all learnt something new.
It was a great way to end the year with the junior primary!

Room 1 and the Kindy Classes
Room 1 have been teaching the Kindy classes over the last few weeks how to program the yellow Beebots, and practise using their number skills. All the students have enjoyed being together and learning. There was amazing teaching by the Room 1 students and awesome learning by the Kindy children.

Voluntary Contributions 2025
It is a requirement from the Education Department that all families are informed two months before the commencement of the next school year of possible charges for the following year. This is to allow families an opportunity to budget for those programs if required. The amounts shown are the maximum amount that you could be charged over the year. In many cases we never come close to the amounts, with the exception of swimming lessons and the Year Six camp.
