Principal’s Report
Welcome to Term 4, I trust all families had an enjoyable holiday break.
Waste Free Lunch Boxes
We have some very interesting activities taking place this term. This week we commenced the Waste Free Lunch Box campaign, and we will soon be introducing the children to the concept of recycling paper towels, all part of our Waste Sorted School program.
Music Incursions
We have two wonderful opportunities to expose the children to quality music. Today, the John Forest Secondary College will be presenting a performance as part of their Primary School Music Tour program, some of the children playing instruments may be past students. Next week we have another free music incursion, this time from the WA Symphony Orchestra. These two performances are for children from years one to six.
Technology Day
Friday 25 October is our big Technology Day. Notes have been sent home regarding this event, asking for parental support. A Seesaw notice was sent home last Tuesday, and a paper copy was sent home Monday. We would love to see as many families there as possible.
Kindy 2025 Orientation
We have Orientation Days coming up for our new Kindergarten families. This year we have split the group in two, inviting families to come in based on which class their child will be attending next year. This way, the children will also be involved.
High School Orientation Days
Year Six children have Orientation Days for their prospective high schools. These are across different days depending on the school that the children are enrolled in. Morley Senior High School, John Forest Secondary College and Hampton Senior High School all have theirs on, Monday 25 November.
Upcoming Events
There will be a swimming carnival on Friday 22 November, more information regarding this will follow. Friday 6 December is the P&C Disco, this year with a Hawaiian theme. Again, further information to follow closer to the event.
The year Six Presentation Day is Tuesday 3 December, the Book Awards Assembly is Tuesday 10 December, and the Kindergarten and Pre-Primary Assembly is Wednesday 11 December.
Some of the classes are also planning end of year excursions so please look out for those notices. The Values Day/Hampton’s Got Talent is Thursday 12 December, which is the last day for students, a very early finish to the year.
Top Oval Repairs
We are very excited as this week we are having repair work done to the top oval. Since 2004 there has been a significant dip in the oval, which meant it couldn’t be used as a playing field for organised sport. The repair work should be completed by the end of the week, following this the school will be able to make far better use of the area and potentially turn it into a Soccer field.
Staff News
Mrs Wendy O’Neill announced her resignation from Hampton Park Primary School at the end of last term. Mrs O’ Neill is still working at the Library for Statewide Services and will be retiring from there at the end of this year. Mrs O’ Neill has worked for The Education Department of WA for 46 years. We wish Wendy and her Husband Jim all the very best for the future.
Kindergarten 2025
We are still taking enrolments for Kindy 2025. If you know of anyone who has a child turning four before June 30, 2025, that hasn’t already enrolled into a school please ask them to consider ours.
Assembly
There is no formal assembly this morning as C1 and C2 have combined for their assembly, which will be held on 30 October. We look forward to seeing many families there.
Technology Day - Friday 25 October
Bring along your family and friends to make this year’s Technology Day a great success.
The students from Pre-Primary to Year 6 have been very busy all year preparing for the big day. There will be items to buy on class stalls, games, entertainment, drinks and delicious food, as well as a display to show you what the students have been learning with robotics and Digital Technology.
We hope you can join us for this very exciting event next term! See you there!

Free Swimming Lessons
Enjoy free VacSwim lessons and pool entry for the December and January school holidays. Enrolments are now open and will close 16 October 2024.
VacSwim programs give children across Western Australia the skills to stay safe and build their confidence in the water. We offer a variety of programs for your child:
- that range from 5 to 10 days in length.
- in pool or calm water environments and at surf centres.
We hold lessons in more than 175 locations at pools and beaches around the state.
With help from friendly and qualified swimming instructors, your child can progress through stages 1 to 16, including achieving their Bronze Medallion.
Has your contact information changed?
Please notify the office if any of your contact details have changed. It is important that we have the correct contact information for carers and students for general correspondence and in the case of an emergency.

Happy Term 4!
We are so close to completing our fundraising goals this year. Thank you for the continued support, every dollar donated is going to benefit our students for many years to come. We promise to continue our hard work and achieve great things together. We have a meeting next week, Monday 21 October at 6pm. It will be held in the school boardroom, located in the office building. Issue 7 orders are due by 22 October.
You can order via LOOP online where you can take advantage of these great offers or place cash orders into the library box before the due date.
Canteen
The canteen is open Tuesday and Wednesday.
All ordering is done through Spriggy Schools Online or via the App, this is the only way you can order food from the Canteen. We have fresh made items available to order for recess and lunch, full menu and pricing is online with a full visual description. Students can also buy treats and drinks at lunch time, they love this experience very much.
Second Hand Uniforms
We need more uniforms. Our second-hand uniform shop needs more donations to help keep this affordable service going. As we approach the end of the year this is when our kids have grown out of their clothes and you need to buy more, so please think of donating them. If we can secure more uniforms and sizes then we can supply more to our community and help you all save more money.
Donations can be dropped to the office or to the second-hand uniform shop during open hours. Thank you!
