Principal’s Report
Only two sleeps to go and we are on holidays! We have certainly fit a lot into this term and the last three days are no exception. We are hosting the Interschool Athletics carnival today and then a Values Day activity on Friday morning. Thank you to the parents from the Year Six group that are assisting cooking the sausage sizzle for the interschool carnival attendees.
School Site News
The school site will be shut during the holidays as two of our classrooms will have their ceilings replaced. Thank you to the patience of Mrs Falco, Mrs Ker, Mrs Bowden, and Mrs Cunningham as they have had to take down every item off the walls and pack away all the books etc in their rooms. Friday all the furniture will be taken out and stored over the two weeks break and then next term we will recreate the rooms again. There is always something to do in the life of a school.
Free Zoo Passes
The WA Government Perth Zoo Free Pass is the latest offer within the ServiceWA app. The Perth Zoo Free Pass offers WA residents access to up to four free tickets to visit Perth Zoo between 9 September and 30 November 2024, or while tickets last. There is also free entry for children under 15 at the Royal Show this year and they have reduced the cost of ticket prices for adults.
Buggy Buddy's
Need something to do over the school holidays? Buggy Buddy's have done the hard work for you by putting together a school holiday activity list that will keep your children entertained all day! They have listed 100 things to do in the School Holidays including events, must-visit playgrounds, family attractions and many more. Most ideas are free or low cost with some that require booking ahead.

Zero Waste Lunch Challenge
As part of our school’s commitment to reducing our waste to landfill, we are holding a Zero Waste Lunch Challenge in Week 2, Term 3. A waste-free lunch contains no throwaway packaging and produces no food waste. The typical waste-free lunch is packed in a reusable lunchbox or bag. Food is put in reusable containers rather than wrapped in disposable packaging. A drink is in a refillable bottle and all containers are resealable so that leftover food and drink can be saved for later. Fruit and vegetable scraps (e.g. apple cores and banana skins) will be composted at the school through our compost and worm farming system.
Australia is one of the highest producers of waste per person in the western world. The average student’s lunch generates around 3 kg of waste per school year. If you consider the impact of the collective lunches of your family, that’s a lot of waste. But with your assistance, we can make a great contribution towards avoiding waste. By helping your child pack a waste-free lunch you will help fulfill a number of goals:
- Learn about waste avoidance and recovery, including reuse and recycling.
- Reduce the 13 million tons of lunch waste currently going to landfill in Australia.
- Reduce the cost of waste disposal so the school’s resources can be put to better use.
- Minimise litter around the school due to less waste becoming litter.
- Encourage healthy eating by avoiding pre-packaged foods which tend to be high in fats, sugar, sodium and artificial ingredients.
- Help you save money – an average waste-free lunch can save you $10.50 per week or $397.50 per year per child.
Each day your child brings a waste free lunch they will get a ticket and go in the draw to win some fabulous prizes!
Thank you for supporting your child’s participation in Hampton Park’s Zero Waste Lunch Challenge.

Technology Day - Friday 25 October
At Hampton Park Primary School we are excited to announce our annual Technology Day is coming up early in Term 4. This involves the students designing and making items, which they then sell at their class business stalls. We would like to invite you to bring along your family and friends to make this a great afternoon.
The students from Pre-Primary to Year 6 have already been very busy all year preparing for the big day. There will be items to buy on class stalls, games, entertainment, drinks and delicious food, as well as a display to show you what the students have been learning with robotics and Digital Technology.
We hope you can join us for this very exciting event next term! See you there!
