Principal’s Report
Next Friday 28 June will be the last day of Term 2, it’s been another very busy but always interesting term at the school.
Semester 1 Reports
As mentioned in the last newsletter the semester one reports will be sent home with the children on Wednesday of Week 11, 26 June. K1 will receive theirs on Tuesday 25 June. A big thank you for the professional manner, in which all the teachers at Hampton Park work on the student reports. A special thank you also to Mr Ker and Ms Webb for the dedication and commitment that they make during the reporting process.
Enrolments for 2025
A reminder to Year Six parents that it is time to enrol your child into a high school. Enrolments close on Friday 19 July, which is the end of the first week of Term 3. This is the same closing date for enrolments into Kindergarten for 2025. If you know any family in the area that have a child born between 1 July 2020 and 30 June 2021, they are eligible to enrol in Kindergarten. Please see our web page for a link to application forms or visit the front office.
Pyjama Day
The Year Sixes have organised a fundraiser for tomorrow. The previous newsletter did say Friday, but it is on Thursday. The children are invited to wear their PJ’s to school and bring a gold coin donation going towards the Year Six presentation day activities. As mentioned in the SeeSaw message, children are welcome to bring their favourite teddy bear, but please ensure their name is written on it somewhere to avoid the bear going home to the wrong house.

Winter Carnival
On Friday, the Year 5 and 6 students competed in the annual Winter Carnival in a variety of sports against five other schools. They participated in football, soccer, netball and modcrosse.
The Hampton Park spirit was on show in all of these sports and the school values were a highlight to see. The netball teams bought home two shields, winning both divisions and keeping our strong netball history alive and well.
The soccer teams also had success in winning the A division and being extremely competitive in the other division. The football team played extremely well against some very skilful opponents and finished just outside the top 2. The modcrosse team had a great day where they displayed tremendous teamwork and were able to put some of their practice into action.

Run Club
We have been having some great Run Club sessions, the students work really hard. They put in a lot of effort and it’s great to see them having some fun while building their fitness levels. We have been preparing for the Cross Country in Term 3 and I can see the fitness levels increasing each session.

Holiday Borrowing
Students are allowed to borrow books for over the school holidays, but they must be returned the first week of Term 3.
New Competition
We will be starting a competition to see which class can be the most consistent with bringing their books back for the term. Only one class can win the reward at the end of Term 3. The total books returned will be based on the percentage of how many books the whole class brings back. For example, if only half of the class bring back books, their mark will be 50%, if three quarters of the class bring back books their mark will be 75%. Reward will be given at the end of the term for the class who has been most consistent with bringing back their books each week and the reward will be icy poles!
Chess Tournament
Week 8 saw an exhilarating battle between the Year 5 and 6 boys. Jackson (Room 7) and Yash (Room 9) had a fantastic game, ending with Yash finding checkmate and a great display of sportsmanship from both boys. Tai (Room 9) and Logan (Room 7) faced off in a nail biting back and forth and in a display of excellence, Tai found checkmate in the final moments of lunch, right as the siren sounded. Adrian (Room 8) and Teoh (Room 8), our two remaining Year 6 boys had a clash of the titans as the tournament favourites faced off in the quarter final! Adrian took a great win over his friend and advances to the next round. Next week sees the semi-finals take place with the finals coming in hot!
Premiers Reading Challenge
The Premier’s reading challenge is still on, and students can borrow most books and add them to their list to go towards achieving their goals for the challenge.
WAYRBA
Voting on WAYRBA books is continuing until the end of Term 3. The more votes for these books the better for ensuring the Authors recognition and the continuation of WAYRBA, helping our young readers have a choice of what they like to read.
Book Week
Watch this space!! Display coming soon! There are a lot of wonderful books to go on display this year. Start thinking about your book week costume!
