Principal’s Report
We are over half way through Term 1 already, this term only has nine weeks.
The P&C are arranging some terrific activities to celebrate Easter at the end of this term, please watch out for further information regarding this.
Staff had a terrific Professional Development Day on Friday 1 March. A variety of activities were planned throughout the day.
We are trying to improve the playing area for the Early Childhood children with some new equipment whilst also rearranging some old equipment. One of the most pressing items is the relocation or the two large tractor tyres. Currently the tyres are full of white sand, this needs to be removed in order to move the tyres. Our School Chaplain, Joshua Benjamins, spent all of last Friday digging out some sand. He has almost completed the first one. If there is any willing parent/s that wouldn’t mind an hour or so on a shovel we would love to hear from you. We can provide the wheelbarrow and shovels but you would need to bring your own gloves.
Mrs Janice Clamp is away until next term, taking some very well-deserved Long Service Leave. We wish her a fantastic holiday. If you have any queries that would normally go to Janice please redirect them to Mrs Linda Fraser, who is filling in for the remainder of the term.
Congratulations to the following students who received a Merit Certificate or Values Award at our last assembly.

Office Art Display
Thanks to Mrs Lee, our current art display in the office celebrates Chinese New Year.
Library News
Week 5 already, the term is going very fast.
We have some wonderful students returning books every week, however we have others who seem to forget. It would be fantastic if every student could return their books every week so that other students can enjoy them as well.
Easter
This week we changed our display to an Easter extravaganza, with the help of the library monitors, Logan and Estebahn.
Chinese News
In Chinese there is a competition for the best 2024 Chinese New Year Poster being run for the lower, middle and upper primary students. The winners will be announced soon. There is some amazing work being created! The work is so amazing it is not easy to choose winners.
We are so lucky to have so many different classes come into the library now to learn and grow. The library is a calm and safe space for all students to enjoy.

WasteSorted School
Hampton Park Primary School has been an accredited WasteSorted School for more than 13 years. We promote sustainability and responsible waste management behaviours through the following activities:
- Each classroom is responsible for collecting and recycling one item (please read through the attached flyer for details).
- Food waste from recess and lunch is collected and used to feed the worms in the worm farms.
- Each classroom has a dedicated paper bin that is collected for recycling when full.
- Used ink cartridges are recycled through Close the Loop.
- All students participate in Zero Waste Lunch for one month.
- Gardening Club – where students get the opportunity to grow and cook fresh produce.
Later this year, FOGO bins will be introduced to reduce the amount of organic matter going into the general waste bins.

Has your contact information changed?
Please notify the office if any of your contact details have changed. It is important that we have the correct contact information for carers and students for general correspondence and in the case of an emergency.
Pay your Voluntary Contributions and go in the draw to WIN
Thank you to families who have paid their voluntary contributions. These monies go to much needed resources for students.
The P&C have donated three Tudor Uniform vouchers for tri colour shirts. To be in the draw to receive one of these vouchers all you have to do is make sure your Voluntary Contributions are paid by Friday 26 April. If you have already paid your contributions this year, you are already in the draw. There will be a voucher for one shirt, a voucher for two shirts and a voucher for three shirts to be won.
Thank you to the P&C for your continued support of the Hampton Park Primary School community.
P&C
We invite all our school community to a free family event on Friday March 22, from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm on the school oval. Our fundraising coordinator Ashton has organised some games and fun activities to enjoy, with chances to win some prizes too! Our much-loved Ladybee Ice Cream Van will join us, and our P&C has a Cake Stall planned, you may bring your own picnic along too! We hope you can arrange the time to join us for this fun afternoon with you families. We will require around 10 volunteers on the day to help setup and help at the stations. Please contact us via email info@hppspandc.org.au or Facebook message if you can lend a hand.
Canteen
OPEN TUESDAYS & WEDNESDAYS EVERY WEEK THIS MONTH!
We have new summer specials available, many gluten free and halal options for those that need. There is fresh fruits and yummy healthy snacks. We hope your child finds their favourites on the menu. Please make sure you have downloaded and/or updated your Spriggy Schools account via the link below. It’s the only way you can order lunch from the canteen. The app is very user friendly and easy to understand, we can also refund orders instantly. So if your child is sick just flick us a message and we will refund your purchase.
The canteen is fully run by the P&C, we are all volunteers, and we are always looking for more people to join the team and help make yummy food. Please reach out to us if you wish to help out some time, all our volunteers receive a $5 canteen voucher each time they help out. This can be used for yourself or your child’s lunches.
