Principal’s Report
Welcome to Hampton Park Primary School for 2024.
Staff Changes
There have been some staff changes this year as we have increased student numbers and required an additional classroom. Please see the list below of which staff are where this year.
Mrs O’ Neil is on Long Service Leave for Semester One and has been ably replaced with Mr Connor Reynolds for Library Studies on a Thursday. Owing to the additional class we have extended Mrs Lee’s time on a Wednesday and Mr Reynolds is taking extra classes on a Friday morning.
Congratulations to Mrs Marie Gardner and her husband Stephen, on the birth of their beautiful daughter, Sienna, on the 9 January. Mrs Gardner will be returning in Term 3. Ms Aida Yazdani is replacing Marie, taking the Pre-primary/Year One split class in Cluster One.
We welcome Mrs Eleanor Richards (nee Smith), back to Hampton Park. Mrs Richards has a Year 4/5 in Room 6. We also welcome Ms Keryn Stannard, Ms Felicity Caporn, Ms Sarah Bonnini and Ms Sofia Zanninovich into various Education Assistant roles across the school.
We have a larger number of new students to the school this year and we would like to welcome them and their families. We currently have 391 students representing 286 families. This is a significant increase from last year.

School Board
The first meeting for 2024 will be on Monday 26 February at 5:30 pm. Meetings are held in the boardroom which is in the Administration building. This year there are four vacancies for parent positions on the School Board. If you are interested in nominating or wish to nominate someone else, please collect a nomination form from Janice Clamp, Manager of Corporate Services. Nominations will close on Friday 23 February at 3:15 pm.
Parents and Citizens
The Parent and Citizens (P&C) group will hold their first meeting on Monday 19 February at 6 pm. This will also be in the boardroom. This is an Annual General Meeting for the purpose of electing office bearers for the year, followed by a general meeting. All are welcome to attend.
Therapists in Schools
Each year we receive a large volume of requests for therapists to conduct sessions in the school e.g., Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists etc. While we try to accommodate where possible, we have procedures in place that need to be followed. All requests will be taken by either Ms Amanda Webb or Mrs Alison Wade, any requests must have completed a Request for Therapy form before appointments can be made. The form is available on our website or on the Education Department’s website. Please also note we have limited room space available, we do not have dedicated therapy rooms in school. Sometimes it may also mean that your child misses a specialist area for a whole year, which is not ideal as we require all children complete all learning areas of the Curriculum. Some therapists complete their sessions in the child’s home, and this may be an alternative for you if we cannot accommodate them.
Has your contact information changed?
Please notify the office if any of your contact details have changed. It is important that we have the correct contact information for carers and students for general correspondence and in the case of an emergency.
Voluntary Contributions
As we start the school year, we would like to remind you of the importance of paying your Voluntary Contribution to the school office. Whilst this is a voluntary contribution, this money goes towards much needed student resources.
Hampton Park Super Stars
Congratulations to Emily G for winning Dr Anne Aly’s Christmas Card competition at the end of last year. Emily’s amazing picture was on the front of all Dr Aly’s Christmas cards.
P&C
Welcome back everyone, we hope the holidays have been kind to you all. We are ready to kick start 2024! Our AGM Meeting will be held next week on Monday the 12th, 6pm in the office admin building. Please come along and help us shape our school and make it better for our children. Please bring a $1 coin to vote and join the P&C when it comes to decision making. We hope to see some new faces and the old ones too. Get excited for the year ahead, we plan to make it a great one.
Canteen
We are in the process of wrapping things up and getting ready to re-open our school canteen. Great things are coming, new staff, new menu, new look! The Canteen is fully run by the P&C, we are all volunteers, and we are always looking for more people to join of little team and help make yummy food for the kids. Please reach out to us if you wish to come and help out some time, all our volunteers receive a $5 canteen voucher each day they help out. This can be used for yourself or you child’s lunches. You can contact us via social media or email info@hppspandc.org.au
Scholastic Book Club
Our book club is also run by an amazing volunteer, Connie! Yesterday she was very busy getting all the catalogues out to our students. Please note all cash orders are due back Thursday 15th Feb, in the LIBRARY BOX only please. All online order can be made through LOOP
