Principal’s Report
The end of the year is racing towards us quicker than we might like.
End of Year Presentations
We have a few important presentation assemblies in Week 9 and 10, that all families are welcome to attend. Tuesday 5 December at 8:50 am is the Year Six Graduation Assembly. Every Year Six child is acknowledged at the assembly. Awards are given for Dux, Citizenship, Endeavour and the top students in Science, Music, LOTE and Physical Education. We have several invited guests who assist with the presentations. Parents are invited to stay hand have morning tea with the students. The students then go to the Atrium restaurant at Crown to enjoy a buffet lunch.
The following week on Tuesday 12 December we host the Presentation Assembly for the students in Years One to Six, commencing at 8:50 am. Each classroom presents an academic award and a meritorious award. In a split class, an academic award is given for each grade.
On Wednesday 13 December we host the Kindergarten and Pre-Primary assembly. Every student is given a book, as we like to acknowledge each child for the progress that they have made through these in grades, whilst also promoting the concept of developing lifelong readers. Again, parents and family members are welcome to attend these two assemblies.
Staff Leave
Several staff members are taking Long Service Leave for the end of the year. Mrs Herrington in PP2 has already commenced her leave, Mrs Pitchen will be working Monday to Friday for the last five weeks and Ms Cox will be in the Pre-Primary on Wednesdays. Mrs Newman is also starting Long Service Leave next Monday and Mrs Pizzata is covering most of those days. Mrs Lee will be on Long Service Leave for Weeks 9 and 10 and will miss the presentation assemblies. We wish all three staff a lovely time as they start relaxing earlier than the rest of us.
Mrs Firby has departed at least for the next twelve months. Ms Firby is trying life as a Haul Pack Driver in the Pilbara. We will miss Keryl very much, but we wish her all the very best.
End of Year Disco
The P&C are hosting a glow disco on Friday 1 December. This is a free event for all children and families to attend. Children must be accompanied by a parent. There will be lots of fun things to do as well as dancing under the stars in the quadrangle. The P&C would like to say thank you to all families for the support shown to the fundraising events that they have hosted this year.

Library News
I can’t believe the term is disappearing already. Unfortunately, I have to say that there are still over 160 books overdue, some over 40 days. I love when the children borrow books, but if they don’t return them, other children don’t get the pleasure of reading the same book. We are only allowed a certain budget for books each year and that budget must be spent wisely for the benefit of all the children. Can you please ask you child/children to check for any books that have not been returned by their due date.
Chess Tournament
WOW, we had a game that was finished in 5mins! Then another with one person conceding defeat. The other game however had a clear winner. All the competitors have been amazing with their skills in chess. This all happened in Week 3. The winners were Guru, Adrian, and Teoh. Guru did 3 moves to win his game and went straight to the grand final. Adrian and Teoh played off for a spot in the grand final, with Adrian winning. Well done to both Teoh and Adrian for a great game! The final winner was Adrian, but both Adrian and Guru were well matched. A big thank you for the support of Mrs Cunningham and the watchful eye of Mr Radovic, who came in every game to check on who was playing and winning.
Bring on the teachers versus students after swimming has finished!
Remembrance Day
We have a display in the library in memory of all those who have lost their lives fighting in wars and conflicts.

Changes to Before and After School Care at HPPS
Hampton Park Primary School and the administration team at TheirCare feel strongly about the quality of care provided to families, this has led to recent discussions on the environment housing Before and After School Care. Through these discussions the Schools administration team and TheirCare believe the current space restraints are not providing the best experience for the families of Hampton Park P.S. Due to this TheirCare will be closing the onsite OSHC effective of Thursday the 14th of December 2023.
To ensure families from Hampton Park Primary School can still access options for Before School Care, After School Care and School Holiday Care, TheirCare will be offering a bus service from Noranda Primary School.
If you have already made an account under Hampton Park School, please follow the below easy steps to link Noranda PS TheirCare to enrol and place your child’s booking.
Visit https://theircare.fullybookedccms.com.au/family/login and sign into your account.
On the main dashboard, scroll down to the calendar view and select the button Add/Change Bookings.
Once this is open, select the Enrol into Another Service option, select Noranda PS TheirCare, and hit Complete.
Alternatively, Morley Out of School Care provide a similar service with the drop off and collection site at Weld Square. We know it is not ideal to have off site facilities, however our student numbers are growing and we literally do not have any suitable space to offer to an out of school service provider.
Thank you for your understanding of this matter.
Remembrance Day Poppies
Mrs Todd and the students from Kindergarten have done a fantastic job of designing and hanging beautiful poppies for Remembrance Day.
Office Art Display
Our latest art display has been provided by PP2. It’s an amazing display of a city scene. Be sure to have a look next time you are in the office.
Tudor Uniforms
Our uniform supplier has released the 2024 price list and catalogue. These prices will be effective from 31 October 2023.
Hampton Park Super Stars
Congratulations to former student, Ella Maas, who topped the Year 12 cohort at Morley Senior High School, receiving the English Award for 2023. Well done, Ella!
Charges and Contributions for 2024
Family Representatives will have a copy of the Charges and Contributions for 2024 in their bags today. It is a requirement from the Education Department that all families are informed two months before the commencement of the next school year of possible charges for that year. This is to allow families an opportunity to budget for those programs if required. The amounts shown are the maximum amount that you could be charged over the year. In many cases we never come close to the amounts, with the exception of swimming lessons and the Year Six camp.
Planning for the 2024 School Year
Now is the ideal time to notify us if you are moving home or school. If your child/children won’t be returning to Hampton Park Primary School next year, please advise us via email at hamptonpark.ps@education.wa.edu.au
P&C
We held our colour explosion fun run last month and as an added bonus Mr Radovic, Mr Lee and our very own P&C Secretary Connie, all put their hands up to get slimed by six lucky students. It was a great turn out amongst our school community, we had plenty of parent volunteers help throughout the event. Thank you all for making it our best one yet! We also want to send a huge shout out to the 58 families that took part in fundraising. You all managed to raise a profit of $4100! We a so grateful for your efforts, thank you kindly, we are able to put this money to good use around our school. All the prizes will be delivered to students classes this week. We look forward to bringing this event back again in 2025!

Canteen
The canteen has been closed all this term as it undergoes some much-needed upgrades and maintenance. Our P&C have been working very hard throughout this whole year to make sure our canteen is running at its best. Most importantly, making sure we meet all the food health and safety laws that is required of a food service. With saying that we are very proud to announce we passed our health inspection, and the canteen is now a registered food business with the City of Bayswater. Below are some photos of the new layout and fresh painted feel we have in the canteen now.
I want to thank everyone that came out and helped us get to where we are today! It’s taken many hours of hard work, blood, sweat and tears to get the job done! It’s such a great feeling to finally say it’s done! We will open again for recess and lunch every Monday/Tuesday starting on the 20th of November until the end of term. Stock is limited and also discounted to clear out our freezer stock. Please show your support and order via Spriggy Schools App. Download the app or go to www.spriggyschools.com.au
